Finally, here's a summary of the Q&A's at Starfury. Michelle had one panel with Katee Sackhoff and one with Nicki Clyne. The whole weekend was characterized by an extremely relaxed and fun atmosphere between stars and fans, I think the pictures can show that much better than any report. Anyway, this is in no way complete or chronological, but I hope I've remembered the most important parts. Merry Christmas :) Quite a lot of fan questions dealt with current TV shows or the business in general, shows that the actors watch themselves or would like to star in. When asked about their favorite TV-shows, Michelle revealed her love for british comedy shows like 'the Mighty Boosh” and 'Never mind the buzzcocks' while Katee confessed that she watches reality TV and the discovery channel. A quote from 'America's next top model' then provided for some hilarious moments on stage, when Katee said that one candidate on that show wanted to have the ability “to shoot bullets out of her boobies” as a super power. Michelle and Katee discussed this for a while, came to the conclusion that it would be quite uncomfortable, and Michelle pointed out that there'd be a certain danger of shooting oneself in the foot... Katee preferred the superpower to mind read, like Sookie, while Michelle modestly settled for "all of them" which lead to the character of Sylar on 'Heroes', who kills people and takes their powers. She wasn't sure which Superhero she would like to play on film or TV. (Katee suggested that Michelle would've been a great 'Wonderwoman') But she is a huge fan of comic writer Warren Ellis and would be on board for a project with him. She said she might be a bit too old for a remake of 'Global Frequency' (oh come on... ). 'Global Frequency' was an unreleased tv-pilot based on Ellis' comic, a role which required a lot of physical action. The question what TV show she'd like a guest role on was quite hard to answer since Michelle “has done them all”, but she likes 'The Wire' though she has done a similar series with 'Homicide', which was also a crime show set in Baltimore. And again, 'the Mighty Boosh' came up, she said she'd do anything Noel Fielding asked her to (not including singing, unless a gun is put to her head). Michelle pointed out that TV has improved so much lately and that many studios have turned away from stretching out tv series over 10 or 15 years. She doesn't like to be bound to a show for too long and always wants to move on, like a gypsy. On the other hand, Michelle isn't into watching typical block busters at the cinema, she prefers dvds and "it has to be Fellini" at the cinema. Regarding relationships with actor colleagues, Michelle said she learned something from everyone she works with no matter how unexperienced or professional they were, and that especially on BSG there was no-one who was difficult to work with. (But the pig in 'True Blood' was being quite unprofessional at times...) She was generally very enthusiastic about True Blood whenever the topic came up, though she doesn't know yet what's in store for her character "the creepy pig lady". Shooting will start again in January and Michelle joked that she was a bit concerned about possible required nudity, since nearly everyone else on the show already had had nude scenes.
A very touching moment occured when a fan asked about the late Adrienne Shelly. Michelle starred with her in the movie 'Road Killers' and told us that she still keeps a poetry book Adrienne gave to her. And of course, a lot of questions dealt with Battlestar Galactica and Admiral Cain. Things that Michelle would have liked to explore more deeply given the chance were for example the ethical conflicts and the power structure between Cain and Roslin. One admirable quality of Cain was her ability to quickly adapt to new situations and try to make the best out of it for her crew and her goals. Michelle admitted that Cain would probably lose a cage fight with Adama, and that Helena was completely misunderstood considering her former life as a salsa dancer, gardener and knitter :) And now we finally know why she shot the XO – he simply deserved it for being annoying all the time!
Michelle's last words at the closing ceremony -"you are all fucking insane" -I'll take that as a compliment... :)
